louberry

it's lou-berry the blueberry

the blueberry! we like to name our buses after different flavours of jellybean and if we can shoe-horn in a bad pun at the same time, well so much the better. lou is a 1972 dormobile conversion but has undergone a complete internal refit. we found lou in a kentish hop farm but he was happy to move to sussex and now enjoys regular visits to the seaside and loves to be a mobile beach hut. our friend couchie calls him hendrix, 'coz he's a purple haze, man.

lou has a full width bed and is very comfortable for two adults. two kids can sleep in the bunks which pull out in the concertina roof.

waltermelon

walter-melon, gedit?

walter is a south african import (it's ok, they drive on the left out there, but the speedo is in kph) and has enjoyed the benefits of a lifetime of warm dry weather, which has done him no harm at all! he's originally a westfalia conversion but has been completely refitted to our exacting standards. during his first overhaul we noticed his blowers weren't working and spotted some dust in the pipework - three dustbin liners of dark red african earth later the problem was cured, amazing. walter retains his 'westy' feel but but benefits from a really smashing bulkhead kitchen and a three-quarter width bed.

walter sleeps two adults comfortably and there's room in the roof for two kids in his very rare double width bunk. up front there's a single width-ways bunk that is suitable for one child under eight. that's 2 + 3, which isn't bad.

rajberry

raj-berry, raspberry - these don't get any better

like walter, raj is another westy conversion but he has been refurbished rather than refitted and really delivers the old westfalia experience. we love the look and feel of raj and really enjoy taking him out for a run.

raj is fitted with a comfortable three-quarter width bed and has two single bunks in the roof so two adults and two children are comfortably catered for.

tamgerine

tam-gerine, least said, soonest mended as our gran used to say...

we're not sure what sort of name tam is but after three bottles of wine we still couldn't come up with a rhyme for orange; so tam-gerine the tangerine it is! tam is our youngster, a mere child of thirty-two and an original devon moonraker conversion. tam has a two litre engine with an automatic gearbox which makes her a snip to drive.

tam also has a three-quarter width bed with two single bunks in the roof for the kids.

our first ever bus, tam, is unfortunately undergoing an internal refit and right now she isn't available for hire; we're going to get her back out and camping just as soon as possible, so watch this space.

please don't smoke in any of the buses
